Grants Manager

LiveOn NY seeks a full-time, energetic Grants Manager to join our team. We offer a collegial work environment in which the Grants Manager will have the opportunity to grow and learn about developing successful grant proposals, securing grant funds, and stewarding grantmakers while contributing to the success of LiveOn NY and the communities we serve.

Working as part of a team in a collaborative environment with LiveOn NY colleagues and external partners, the Grants Manager is responsible for writing grant proposals, reports, and other development communications, as assigned; assisting with maintenance and management of the foundation, corporate and government records in our Salesforce database, and assisting with site visit coordination, meeting preparation, and follow up communications.

The Grants Manager will:

– Draft and edit emails and letters of inquiry, grant proposals, reports and acknowledgments, and other development communications, as assigned;

– Assist with online and paper grant submissions and management of grant portal systems;

– Create or collect, update, and maintain boilerplate and template documents used for grant applications;

– Research prospective funders and analyze requests for proposals, as needed;

– Use LiveOn NY’s Salesforce system to ensure donor data integrity, as well as to design queries and reports to retrieve and present grant, project, and/or donor data;

– Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and site visits, as requested;

– Assist in organizing and maintaining electronic grant and prospect files;

– Manage a small portfolio of foundations (5-10);

– Provide writing support for other teams, e.g., major gifts, special events, as requested

– Participate in team and divisional staff meetings;

– Provide support for Monthly Development Working Group Meetings, e.g., scheduling, communications, and note taking at meetings.

– Perform other related duties as assigned.

– Eye for Detail: Able to prepare and proofread materials, correspondence, proposals, and other communications for internal and external audiences

– Curious: Interested and able to learn new skills and develop new areas of expertise by asking questions, participating in professional development opportunities, and taking initiative to acquire new knowledge

– Sense of Responsibility: Able and willing to collaborate with others and to see projects through to completion as a team member or team leader

– Tech Savvy: Proficient in MicroSoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the use of Google Docs; Familiar with relational databases, preferably Salesforce


– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training, and experience required.

– Evidence that candidate has experience in using organizational and writing skills, preferably in a work or internship context

– Experience in managing and completing collaborative writing projects
