NY SMP volunteers work everyday to ensure fewer people in New York become victims of health care fraud. By this, we want to ensure seniors' healthcare benefits are safe and personal information is secure from scammers! Protecting seniors' healthcare, finances, and medical identity while saving precious Medicare dollars is a cause that attracts civic-minded Americans. Nationally, the SMP program engages over 5,200 volunteers who collectively contribute more than 155,000 hours each year. .

No prior healthcare education? No problem! We provide comprehensive training to interested volunteers. Training includes Medicare basics, healthcare fraud basics, & scam prevention resources.
Volunteers work on the frontlines. Through Education Sessions & Community Events, volunteers educate seniors to protect, detect & report healthcare fraud.
Volunteers work individually with Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers & their families to resolve errors, and report suspected fraud and abuse to appropriate authorities.
