Description: Join us for an interactive virtual training designed specifically for aging service professionals working with older adults in community-based settings and programs.
Treating suicidality can feel daunting, even for the most seasoned clinicians. This session strives to increase competence and confidence in navigating suicidal thoughts and behavior with clients. We will examine current data, the language of suicide, and risk factors for older people. We will explore countertransference and how to work through it and review best practices for assessing and treating suicidality in older adults.
Pre-Training Survey: Please take a moment to complete this short pre-session survey—it helps us understand your current knowledge of the topic and enables us to assess your learning afterward.
*Please note: In order to be awarded Continuing Education Contact Hours, LMSWs or LCSWs MUST be present for the entire educational session and complete an evaluation form that includes full name as listed on license, license type (i.e. LMSW or LCSW), and license number.
